I have a passion for finance and I genuinely love my job as one of the Managing Directors of QED Financial Associates Ltd.

I am also a full-time Independent Financial Adviser, time served 30 years.

I believe in giving good quality holistic financial advice and pride myself on doing a great job for my clients. I am married to my wife Karen and we have two grown up daughters.

My other passions in life are skiing, scuba diving, DIY, going to the gym and spending time socialising with my family and friends. I also enjoy watching motorsport and sometimes participate in track days both in this country and Europe. On nice sunny days I really enjoy riding my motorcycle.

Everyone's economic and life situation is unique, and I keep that in mind when providing financial advice. I believe that personalised service is essential when matching clients with the right financial products and services.

As a Financial Adviser, I am dedicated to learning about my clients personal goals. Together we can use them to build a financial security plan focused on our clients' specific needs.

Life is not a dress rehearsal and I believe in living today but planning for tomorrow as inevitably does come around. 30 years in financial services has given me a wealth of knowledge to share with my clients. Whilst sometimes it is not the most thrilling subject in the world I try and inject a little humour into all clients meetings.

I joined the QED team in 2015, holding the position of Assistant Director

This role allows me the opportunity to pull on my strengths and show that I am an accomplished, versatile professional who strives to do my very best at all times.

My working career began in local government. Initially, with Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. This was followed by eleven years at West Yorkshire Police headquarters, working closely with both civilian and police force departmental heads, in relation to key community support and financial structure. Believing I could put to good use the skills I had acquired over the years and to push my own boundaries I took the plunge to leave local government and launch a brand new catering business.

Due to family commitments, and the sale of the business, I worked for a 2 year period in estate agency before taking up the role of Senior Accounts Manager and working alongside the Directors of a well-established UK franchising company. This was a very responsible role which involved overseeing the smooth running of the head office and the 77 franchised accounts.

On a personal note I am passionate about people. I love to spend time with my husband and my two grown up daughters as well as my friends. I have spent many years alongside Dementia and Alzheimer sufferers. Travel and sightseeing is a hobby, along with pulling on my walking boots and walking our fabulous countryside. On the flip side for something more relaxing Yoga, Pilates or a good book!

I have a wealth of experience in the Financial Services Industry, having been in the Life and Pension business for over 30 years.

I assist my clients in making important financial decisions about their futures. I establish what is most important to them and then create a bespoke financial plan. This enables them to feel very secure about their future.

My aim is to help people achieve their lifetime ambitions and goals, whether it's to retire early or simply provide a secure financial future for their family and loved ones.

I am married to Sally and have 2 sons. My hobbies are historic car rallying and cricket; I enjoy the social side of the game and enjoy supporting and watching both of my sons who play for our local club Holmfirth C.C.

I joined the team at QED Financial Associates in January 2017.

Following a career in global purchasing where I was lucky to have the opportunity to travel the world and manage an international supply base, I decided to work more locally to enable me to focus on family responsibilities. I have lived in Thurgoland with my husband and son for the last fifteen years.

I joined QED as a Paraplanner, and the rest is history… QED has been very supportive in helping me build my career in Financial Services.

I believe that one of my strengths is the fact that I have extensive commercial experience gained within market leading global companies, which has given me a broad range of skills that I can bring to client and business situations.

The most satisfying part of my job is the ‘problem solving’ aspect, where I learn about the goals of my clients, and we work through potential solutions and how this could fit with their circumstances and plans. This can at times be life changing for people!

In my spare time I enjoy being with my family and pets, all equestrian sports and generally being outdoors. I enjoy speaking German and still like to visit any country that I can get to!

I am passionate and enthusiastic about finance and have worked in the Financial Services industry for over 22 years, initially qualifying as a Financial Adviser in 1996 with CIS Ltd. Following this in 1999 I was offered a position as a Financial Planning Manager with HSBC.

From there in 2002 I joined Zurich Financial solutions where I advised clients on pensions and investments in partnership with Barnsley Building Society. I then took the opportunity to work for Legal & General for 11 years as a Financial Consultant working in partnership with the Yorkshire Building Society.

I later joined QED specialising in Investment and Pension advice. I have a passion for customer service and enjoy finding solutions to differing client situations.

I Live in Barnsley with my wife and 2 girls. I try my hand at golf but in the main, I love my football. I enjoy socialising and spending time with my family and friends.

I have worked in the Financial Services industry for over 30 years, mainly working for HSBC, initially in the branch network before moving to an IT role in 1995. I worked in various roles including programming, analysis, design and live support. I was also lucky enough to travel around the world as part of my various roles.

After taking redundancy and having some time out from working, I began working as a paraplanner, initially for a solo financial adviser on a self-employed basis before joining QED in August 2019.

As a paraplanner, I assist the Directors and Independent Financial Advisers at QED with their research, report writing and ensuring that all regulatory documentation is completed. This takes some of the pressure away from them which enables them to focus on seeing and advising clients.

Outside of work I have two horses and three dogs which takes up a large part of my free time. I also enjoy swimming and weight training in the gym.

My background has mainly been in Administration with the majority spanning 10 years with HSBC Bank plc Head Office, where I enjoyed my role within a busy Purchasing Department.

As the Office Manager, I am essentially “front of house”, greeting clients either in person on reception or via the telephone.  I have a great passion for ensuring that our clients are greeted in a warm, professional manner and that the office runs smoothly. I have worked for QED since January 2017 and have enjoyed meeting many existing and new clients along the way.  I am responsible for providing the Directors with Management Information, Personnel Administration and Financial Administrative support.

Out of work I can be found at the stables looking after my two horses (one of which is an elderly rescue horse) and generally enjoying the outdoor life with my husband.
